CCR

I think that the hardest part of this project is going to be doing the CCR. This is going to be hard because I think I'm going to do the video one. I asked our teacher and she said that it had to be 5-6 minutes max. That doesn't seem like a long time but when talking into a screen it's gonna be kind of weird. I'm gonna do it on YouTube and just overall talk about how this magazine went. The video is going to be this blog summed up and more personal.

I only have one more thing to do for my magazine so I'll make the CCR after that. The last thing that I have to do for my magazine is my article which I don't think will take long because I have been thinking about how to write this for a while. I'm really excited for us all to have our final products and put them all together because it's been a long project and I'm excited for the result!

Picture Choice

The picture choice for the two-page spread took me a while to choose because it needs to be something I can talk about and really explain what I was trying to convey through it. I decided to go with a close up shot of a woman that I took from a train. We were on our way to Pushkar and there was a group of women dressed up for the festival "Diwali." This is a Hindu festival signifying the triumph of light over evil and can resemble the new year for Western people.

This picture has so much meaning and I think that when I write my article I will be able to go in depth and really convey my message.

Almost Done!

Sandra and I went to Panera and we pretty much finished our magazines. The table of contents was the hardest to do because it had the most pictures, fonts, and writing on it. I used the dimensions on Sandra's table of contents to be able to put my magazine table of contents in an organized way. It also helped to make our magazines look similar, which is good because its supposed to be the same magazine just different issues.

As you can see we used roman numerals because it makes for a very grown up and somewhat fancy look. The colors on my magazine all go together and go with my edition for the fall season time. The fonts are really simple and just give the title, nothing else because I want the main focus to be on the pictures.

Two Page Spread

My two page spread is what I feel is going to be the hardest part about putting this magazine together. My two two page spread is going to be very simple. Because I want to picture to stand out a lot I don't want to much going on in the background of the article in the picture it's self. I want the picture to convey an individualized message to each individual that reads it, then they can read my article and see what I was trying to explain through my picture. What I am really trying to get out of my two page spread is the quote "A picture is worth a thousand words." However, I don't want a person to limit their understanding of a picture just because of what I wanted to say. I want them to form their own opinion and idea from the picture as well as getting a chance to see my point of you through my article.

I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to write my article yet, because a Q&A would be a little awkward seeing that I would be asking myself questions and answering them. I think I'm going to do it in a kind of biography style. I'm not sure yet but I will update you in my next blog posts.

This is kind of the look I'm going for with my two page spread, but I'm not 100% sure yet.

Table of Contents

For my table of contents I wanted to go with a simplistic look. I think the table of contents is the main part of our magazine that is going to make our group look like one magazine with all the editions. Because of the way it's set up it looks similar to one another's but has its own personal characteristics to each edition. What we are doing is putting three page numbers on the top, three page numbers on the bottom, and the word contents in the middle. Around some of the numbers is going to be a picture relating to our edition.

We are still undecided as to if we are all using the same font on the table of contents or if we are all going to use different but somewhat similar fonts to make it more personalized to our magazine edition. Next to the table of contents page is going to be a picture that I took while in India. This picture will help present to the reader what my two page spread will contain. It is somewhat of an introduction to the magazine.

Heres a visual sketch of what it's going to look like.
